The Nova Bomb is a weapon of mass destruction from the High Guard.
Nova Bombs are powerfull weapons, which can produce an artifical supernova by manipulating the gravity. Probably this comes from a reaction of the Voltarium, which causes the gravity of a sun to neutralize. A single Nova Bomb can easily destroy a hole solar system, like the Dyhedra System
As powerful as such weapons are, they are limit: 40 Bombs (the complete inventory of the Andromeda Ascendant) doesn't suffice to "hurt" a Black Hole - simply to convert it temporary into a White Hole, but afterwards it will collapse back upon itself and the Black Hole comes back again.
As well the Magog World Ship couldn't be damaged permanently. It can be slowed down, but the Abyss can easily repair the damages again.
The intergalactic Commonwealth used Nova Bombs primarily to threat and deter enemies.
