Fleet Marshal of the Drago-Kazov, Cuchulain was described a military genius. He had nearly doubled the size of the Drago-Kazov fleet in two years and masterminded the campaign against the Than colonies in the Orion Arm. Because of his success, Cuchulain had many wives and children.

The first time the Andromeda Ascendant and her crew encountered Cuchulain was when they were transporting Elssbet Mossadim from Sabra territory to the Jaguar homeworld. He demanded she be handed over and immediately saw through a ploy the Andromeda crew used to try and distract him. Cuchulain then used drones with footprint magnification to make the Andromeda think she was being chased by a fleet of Nietzschean cruisers, while in reality he had gone on to track Dylan and Elssbet. However, Cuchulain was ultimately thwarted when he found his fleet caught between the Jaguar and Sabra fleets as well as the Andromeda.

Cuchulain later devised a plan to try and capture Tyr Anasazi so he could retrieve the Progenitor's remains. The Drago-Kazov released Makrai fever on Rodina, which prompted the Wayists to respond with medical aid. However, in order to reach Rodina in time, they would need to transit through Ancheron, a Dragan controlled world with left over High Guard orbital missile batteries. This forced Captain Hunt to attempt a ground infiltration of the Ancheron command center to disable the batteries and he brought Tyr with him. Despite the setup, they were successful in taking control of the missile batteries and using them against the Dragan cruisers. Dylan than called fire upon himself and Cuchulain, forcing the Fleet Marshal to back down or die then and there. After these failures, Cuchulain was replaced as Fleet Marshal and executed.
