A militaristic pride, the Rakhshasa are divided between the followers of Calleb Voth, the true Alpha, and Melea Voth, his sister who had usurped his position. Because of this, Calleb had to scavenge for a living. He eventually managed to get his hands on File/D after running across the disabled Magellan Melrow. This prompted Melea to kidnap his son in order to blackmail him for the weapon. When Captain Dylan Hunt arrived, he snuck Seamus Zelazny Harper into the pod carrying the weapon to disarm it. Eventually Dylan bluffed both sides and secured the weapon, telling the two siblings that they had to learn to get along or die in the coming conflict.
