10 Fundamental Steps For Creating Makeup Like a Model
1) First thing, cleanse your face to prepare your perfect canvas for enhancing your beauty. Apply a moisturizer after cleaning if your skin is dry. Tie your hair up or use pins to secure it out of the way during makeup application.
2) Apply liquid foundation using a cosmetic sponge starting at the center of your face and spreading out over your face and neck. Use light repetitive strokes at your neck to blend evenly at the neckline to let your makeup blend in with your skin. Add foundation to your eyelids as well.
3) Apply concealer to your face only where needed to cover blemishes or redness.
4) Apply powder using a powder brush to create a more au naturale and matte finish, use a lightly wet cosmetic sponge over the finished makeup with light repetitive dabs.
5) An great way to create bold fashion model eye shadow is by using three eyeshadow shades. Start by blending one light, one medium, and one darker shade of the same color. This will create your own perfect personal color for your skin tone. Experiment with different a variety of colors to find shades that compliment your skin tone. Apply the medium tone to the eyelid with an eye shadow brush. Fill in the crease of the eyelid with the darker shade. Blend the area where the medium and dark eye shadow meet by making small circles with an eye shadow brush. Again make small circles with the eyeshadow brush to soften the top edge of the dark shade of eyeshadow and blend it up toward the eyebrow. Apply the light shade directly below the eyebrow and blend the two shades where they meet. By blending these shades together you will create a very beautiful blend of shades that accentuate your eyes.
6) Using the eyeliner brush, apply eyeliner as near the upper eyelash line as possible, start at the outside corner of the eye and slowly work your way inward moving closer to your nose. Use eye shadow in the same color as the eyeliner, and apply the matching eye shadow directly over the liner. This intensifies the look of the eyeliner and blends it into your eyeshadow. Repeat the above on the lower eyelash line with the eyeliner only.
7) Use the eyebrow brush to smooth the eyebrows into a fine line. For thin eyebrows, use a matching color of eye liner or a brow pencil to fill in the eyebrows with short strokes. Use a matching color eye shadow over the eyebrows to hold them in place and give them an even look.
8) Use a mascara brush to apply mascara to the top and underside of the upper lashes until they are darkened to the way you like them. Several coats of the mascara may be needed depending on how dark and bold you want your eyelashes to be.
9) Apply blush with a powder or blush brush, smile and apply the blush to the raised parts of your cheeks. Also use the brush to blend the blush upward and outward toward the temples with short upward strokes.
10) With the lip liner pencil, outline the lips with a lip liner pencil that closely matches the lipstick that will be used. Then color your lips with the lip liner pencil. Apply one coat of lipstick on top of your lips over the lip liner penciling, blot with a tissue, apply a second coat and then blot again. Then apply a bit of lip gloss to the center of the bottom lip to give your lips a full and glamorous appearance.
