This mountainous planet is rich with ores, and is surrounded by a thick asteroid belt of copper talcite. It was once populated by humans, but before Andromeda arrived at the planet, it was overran by magog. When the crew set foot on the planet to investigate, they were unsuccessfully ambushed, and evacuated after they spotted the new magog satellite ship. Fortunately the asteroid belt around Birrin provided for a perfect hiding place, and escape strategy.
