The first warship built for the new High Guard, the Crimson Sunrise was supposed to be even more powerful than the Andromeda Ascendant. Each crew member also underwent brain scans and DNA analysis for deception traits to ensure their loyalty. However, a rogue comet caused a rupture in its AP tanks and destroyed the ship before it could formally enter service.
Besides being the first new High Guard warship, the Crimson was also notable for having several shortcuts being taken during its construction. One such shortcut resulted in the escape pods leaking air and nearly resulted in total disaster for the survivors.
