The mainly uninhabitated world Acheron was an important base of the High Guard.
Nevertheless, during The Long Night the planet fell to the Nietzscheans of the Drago Kazov trunk which could conquer the base there among immense losses and against the massive opposition of the Commonwealth armed forces, in the end.
So the Nietzscheans keept tabs on the whole sector from Acheron and with the immense firepower of the orbital defense they controlled an important slip-route, until the fastened arrangement was destroyed in a command action by Dylan Hunt and Tyr Anasazi to allow the passage to Rodina to Andromeda Ascendant and a convoy of the Wayists.
