Title
- The title "An Affirming Flame" comes from a poem of W.H.Auden ("September 1, 1939"):
"May I, composed like them
Of Eros and dust,
Beleaguered by the same
Negation and despair,
Show an affirming flame."
(Interpretation)
- The german title "Fiat Lux" (lat. "Let there be light") comes from the bible (Genesis 1, 3): "dixitque Deus fiat lux et facta est lux", in english: "And God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light."
