The son of the Jaguar Archduke at the time of his marriage to Elssbett Mossadim, Charlemagne Bolivar (portrayed by James Marsters) was the Archduke by the time he approached Captain Dylan Hunt about signing the Commonwealth charter (CY 10087). Charlemagne's motivation was to gain new allies in the war against the Drago-Kazov, specifically the assistance of the Andromeda Ascendant and her captain.
