Descended from Geharis Rhade, Captain Dylan Hunt's Second officer, Telemachus Rhade was a native of Tarazed and commanded its Home Guard forces with the rank of admiral. When he first met Captain Hunt, Rhade led an isolationist faction that wished to avoid entanglement with the rest of the known worlds. Rhade and Captain Hunt nearly killed each other when both thought the other was conspiring to take over the Tarazed government. However, they soon realized that it was the first Triumvir, Rakel Ben-Tzion, who was responsible for the various ploys. Rhade arrested her and soon Tarazed signed the charter and became the capital of the Restored Commonwealth.
Later, Rhade joined the High Guard, taking the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He managed to capture Tyr Anasazi but lost him when Nietzschean forces ambushed his ship. The Andromeda Ascendant rescued him and he soon joined the command crew.
Trivia
- Telemachus (also transliterated as Telemachos or Telémakhos; literally, "far-away fighter") is a figure in Greek mythology, the son of Odysseus and Penelope. His part in the saga of Odysseus was described by Homer in the epic poems of the Iliad and the Odyssey, in which his part of the story is often portrayed as a passage from childhood into manhood. In particular, the first four books of the Odyssey are sometimes referred to as the Telemachy. (Wikipedia)
