Serendipity is a fairly primitive world, inhabited by human colonists, the Hajira, seeking to escape the chaos of the Fall. Because of their lack of technology and isolation, the Hajira were unprepared to deal with slavers who happened upon them. The Hajira also have genetic memory, meaning they remember everything that their ancestors experienced. Thaddeus Blake, a Wayist priest living amongst them, called for help and it arrived in the form of Captain Dylan Hunt and the Magog Rev Bem. Eventually the slavers were driven off but certain circumstances resulted in the deaths of almost all the Hajira as well.
